Temporary work. Things weren’t necessarily better back in the day. The situation for temporary workers is much better now than it was in the past: they are covered by the CBA, have a pension fund and receive ample career development opportunities.

Tips from an Expert

Are the working conditions for staff leasing positions the same as those for permanent positions? Are there financial disadvantages?

Yes, the working conditions are exactly the same. The provisions of collective bargaining agreements are the same for both employment models as regards remuneration, working hours and expense allowances. In addition, hiring companies' standard extra pay practices (e.g. for shift models) are often incorporated into staff leasing contracts so that temporary workers are not disadvantaged compared with permanent staff.

How have staff leasing conditions changed over time?

Staff leasing conditions improved greatly with the introduction of the CBA on Staff Leasing: guaranteed minimum wages in all sectors and social security via clearly defined solutions for illness, accidents and pension schemes. Another benefit is the fantastic further training opportunities funded by temptraining's further training fund.

What are the benefits of a temporary position?

Temporary positions are often quick and easy to find, as professional staff leasing companies assist with the search. These generally maintain good personal contact with hiring companies, so they know where there are vacancies to be filled. A temporary position is also a perfect way to discover different companies and (where possible) new fields of work, and thus retain a high level of flexibility. If it suits both parties, a temporary position can easily be converted into a permanent one after an agreed period of time.
